We are honored to have Annie Lee from JB as our Max Crew of The Month! She has been with us for about 8 years, working side-by-side with the rest of JB Max Crew. From a patient that used to have doubts, now Annie is a reliable Max Crew.
“You want to know what the best part of volunteering is. It is when patients walk away from the gatherings with a better understanding of their disease, their doubts and concerns addressed, and their questions being answered,” said Annie.
Being a CML survivor herself, she could relate to other patients. Seeing these patients have fun at casual Let’s Sama-Sama and making new friends, all of that give her satisfaction. Now she knows the patients will not be alone.
Annie is involved in the event preparation activities. She is also one of the key persons that organize and support the activities in JB. She describes herself as a low-profile person and she finds enjoyment in working behind the scenes.
Her 8 years of contribution inspired by the belief that knowledge is an empowerment for patients. She is always ready to help out to ensure these patients being benefited from the knowledge sharing be it from the doctors or fellow survivors.
As for us here in Max Family, we are grateful to have an empathetic Max Crew like her, we know we can touch more patients.
