Let's Sama-Sama Gathering in Penang - Cancer Patients Are Unique Individuals

We are truly grateful to learn an important lesson: Cancer patients are unique individuals. That means they set off on their cancer journey faced with different kinds of challenges. We are trying our best to understand these challenges to better support them.

Sharing their challenges in the conducive environment make cancer patients are more relatable. Let's Sama-Sama in Kompleks Masyarakat Penyayang George Town, Pulau Pinang last Saturday made a history.

For the first time, the patient gatherings for Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML), Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor (GIST) and Multiple Myeloma (MM) were held at the same time! The session proved that sharing your experiences could enrich others. The courage of patients to open up really inspired fellow patients. We also observed the maturity of our Max Crew (volunteers) in leading their respective groups that day. By listening to the patients, we got to understand their sides of stories.

The day wouldn't be happening without the support from dedicated doctors of General Hospital Pulau Pinang. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr Goh Ai Sim, Dr Chew Teng Keat, Dr Tan Sui Keat, Dr Asmidar, Dr Gan, Dr Chiang Su Kien, Dr Francesca Tan, and Dr Cynthia.

Not to be forgotten, thank you to all the Max Crew (volunteers from patients, occupational therapists and general public).
